The purpose of tutorials / e-learning / training videos is to teach something - how to use an app, install a products, technical terms, etc. In order for your video to reach a global audience, it has to be in English. This is where I come into the picture.
The voiceover should always be clear and slow enough for the audience to follow, internalize, and learn. They may employ a formal or friendly tone - or even conversational - but they must always hold the listener's interest, as the content is usually quite dry and long. This is certainly an area in which a professional voice actor is a must!
Tip: If you have a very technical script with a lot of complicated terms, it is recommended to hire a voice talent with a background in the relevant field. It is important that the voice talent understand the script, in order to be able to read it naturally and convincingly. Furthermore, a voice talent who is familiar with the technical jargon will know how to pronounce it and will not have to ask you about the pronunciation of each and every word. I have 12 years of experience as a technical writer in hi-tech, and I have specialized in e-learning voiceover for hi-tech for many years. Technical scripts just make me happy :-)
